Bosch Professional GMS 120 - wall detector

The GMS 120 Cable and Structure Wall Detector detects wood, ferrous and non-ferrous metals and live cables with depths of up to 38mm, 120mm, 80mm and 50mm, respectively. With the center finder, you can locate the center point of the object on the wall and mark it by the marking hole. The LED ring glows red when an object is detected, yellow when there is an object nearby, and green when no object is detected.

Three detection modes

With three specific detection modes, the GMS 120 allows you to fine-tune the results in specific applications.

Metal mode - Standard detection function of the wall scanner that detects live wire and metal.

"Live wire" mode: optimized for the detection of these elements. For safety reasons, all modes recognize live cables, but this mode is optimized for that application and therefore acts as a more accurate strain detector.

"Partition" mode: optimized to detect wood and metal profiles behind plasterboard, can be used specifically to locate profiles. This mode also detects metallic objects and live cables.

To obtain the best result:
Make sure the wire you are looking for is under tension (eg by turning on the light).
Remove metallic jewelry and gloves.
Turn off or remove nearby electronic devices that may interfere with detection.
Turn on the device and select the appropriate detection mode for the application.
Hold the wall detector firmly by the rubber grip.
Rest the entire surface of the detector on the wall and move it slowly 3 times, horizontally and vertically.

3-COLOR INDICATOR - Marking hole LED ring glows red when detecting an object, yellow when there is a nearby object, and green when no object is detected
ACCURATE RESULTS: apply tension to the wire you are looking for, and remove gloves and jewelry from your hands; rest the device flat on the wall and move it across the area at least 3 times
